We keep learning…
Wednesday, April 1st, 2009It’s been a few weeks since my last post relating to our iPhone development, we are still waiting for Apple to do their thing and approve our application to the “developer program“, I’m like a kid waiting for Christmas. Anyhow, for the time being we have satisfied ourselves with a few books the main one being “Beginning iPhone Development” published by Apress, it’s a good book and the examples are clear and concise.
We have built our “Hello World” application and have long surpassed it, we have been concentrating on fetching XML data over the internet. The cocoa/object c language is not to difficult to understand especially if you have experience with something like C#, Delphi Pascal or similar. I have found the SDK interface something to get used to, it feels somewhat clunky, however, I’m sure that’s just because I’m new to Apple/iPhone development.
Soon I hope to release some source code of our test apps, is this something you would be interested to see?
Chat soon.

The iPhone OS 3.0 videos from Cupertino
Tuesday, March 17th, 2009Bringing you part 1 and 2 of the press launch of the iPhone OS 3.0
Reading through the description of the event made me pretty jealous, the atmosphere heavy with the chatter and key tapping of the Twitterati and Coldplay drifting over the speakers. Then Grey Joswiak says “Goodmorning everyone and welcome to campus”. Ooh i get goose bumps just typing that.
Anyway i am going to leave you guys to it, to watch the videos and enjoy the speakers. We’ll be coming back with a few more app posts, as i have high hopes for what Media Modus is going to develop for the new iPhone and all i’m saying folks is “watch this space.. seriously..watch this space”.
iPhone OS 3.0 round-up from the day:
- Unified push notification
- Voice memos
- Wifi auto login
- Shake to shuffle
- FM transmitter
- Notes sync
- Live streaming
- Cut-copy and paste that works across apps
- Proximity sensor
- nav bars
- Glucose tesing for diabetics
- Blood pressure app
I also had to add this image and remind those reading that Media Modus are one of those 800,000.

One day to go to the iPhone OS 3.0 preview
Monday, March 16th, 2009Media Modus holds it’s breath for the new iPhone OS 3.0
Only a few weeks ago i was up in Durham and decided to trade in my Palm which was becoming a little glitchy and got myself a Blackberry Storm, nice phone with great push email service. BUT getting access to your social networks on a Blackberry Storm is a bit like wearing marigolds and peeling an orange, basically it’s no iPhone (more…)
